 Movie Review

Introduction: We are just generalizing what  we thought of the movie, set, design and Characters. We hope this helps you decide if this movie is something you would like to watch.

Production and Direction Crew: They used their lighting really well! Keeping focus on the actors faces. My favorite scene from the play for the set was the garden scene, it helped capture the story line by giving Beatrice and Benedick places to hide. Also it was good to see them walking around rather them standing still in one set having limited space. These sets made it seem like there was endless room. I think the scene with the costume ball could have had better features. You couldn’t really tell where the dance floor was. And the only thing that was there were the masks. Which is good that the made that the most eye catching because it played a big part. (when Don Pedro pretended to be Claudio)

How did the actors act:  We really liked seeing actual people acting out the play, it made you see the story in a different way and allowed you to understand the emotion that was brought to life. We thought the actors portrayed their Characters really well with a few faults. We think some of the actors had troubles with there emotions and didn’t quite capture the feeling in the right way.  I thought that Claudio had the most troubles capturing some emotions of showing his love and sadness to lady hero. We think he was trying too hard to create the right emotion.  We thought that Beatrice and Benedick were the best actors they really played there characters well. Joking around with one another and keeping their love for one another secreted and making it seem like they hate one another.

Was it worth it: We thought this movie would be worth watching for most people, because it explains the story very well and captures emotions allowing you to understand each Character. We think that this would be good for the general population because they add funny comments and jokes and make it understandable for most; they also use very Shakespearian languages. I think out of 5 stars I would give it a 4.

Task 6: Same scene, different perspective

Dear diary,

Yesternight sirrah Borachio wooed me to meet with him at my lady’s windowsill. There he professed his love and whispered sweet nothing’s in my ear. It was a magical night, and now I truly believe that I DO love him! Nothing could be more perfect, but I swear I heard him call out Lady Hero’s name rather then mine. Perhaps I was hearing things, why would he say her name whilst he was with me? I shall not ponder this thought any longer, for it is foolish and unbecoming of me; he swore his love and I shall requite his feelings with mutual admiration. Aside from this beautiful moment, I could almost be sure I felt eyes watching us from outside the window with soft whispers that I was unable to decipher. Now that I look back upon that night with a new perspective, I feel there was something off with the things I was “hearing”. I did not look upon the reason Sirrah Borachio persuaded me to wear my Lady Hero’s gown to meet him, but now, with my mind clear, I begin to question these odd requests. Such a spontaneous event, in the moment amazing, but now, I believe it to be a tad suspicious. My decision is to leave it as it is and not think on it further.

Yours truly,
Margaret

Confessions of the deceived

Dear Diary,

I have a confession to make. Yesternight, I was lured by Sirrah Borachio to meet with him at my lady's chambers, he convinced me to wear Lady Hero’s gown and embrace him by the window. I was cruelly deceived into believing he was fond of me but in actuality, used me in his lord’s, Don John, plan to sabotage my lady’s wedding. This is not a confession of my part in the scheme that night, this is my confession of love for Sirrah Borachio. Due to my unconditional love for him, I wish to convey my broken heart for what he hath done to me. It hurts all the more that I truly cared for him and he deceived me without a second thought. Sirrah Borachio, if thou are reading this, I hope you realize the pain thou has put me through and feel the guilt weighing down on thy.

Yours truly,
Margaret

The Masquerade Party

This scene takes place at the masquerade party when Claudio gives Don Pedro the mask to woo Lady Hero in his name. Because of his shyness, Don Pedro offers to win Hero's heart for his friend and show how in love Sir Claudio is with the Lady.

In this picture, Don Pedro is preparing to put on the mask and walk over to Hero (who is standing near the table).

Dear Confused about Cutie,

In all honesty, if the boy does not truly claim his love for you yet still scorns on your actions, you need to forget about him and move on! He is not worth your precious time if he let another take you as their own but is still angered by the events, he has no right to be so possessive. Take it from me, the man I thought I was mutually in love with, deceived me and used me for his terrible scheme to betray the house of my employment and my Lady. If this boy abandoned you in a place you were unfamiliar with, then he does not deserve another moment of your time, you deserve so much better than him! In regards to the situation of rumors and such, I think you should confront this girl who has started a hate page about you. Tell her that what she is doing is cruel and that she can not spread rumors about you and influence others to hate you. You are stronger than her and YOU know the truth, that is all that truly matters. If she proceeds with her mean antics, address this problem to an adult who can advise you further on how to deal with this situation. Bullies like her thrive on a reaction from the victim, show her that you can not be wavered and you are the bigger person. Nothing bothers a bully more than someone that is stronger than them and does not care for what they have to say. Just remember who you are and stick with what you know/believe in, the people that really care for you will stay by your side no matter what.
